Care 101: How to Wash a Woven Throw (Without Losing the Fringe)
Share
A good jacquard throw should stay cozy for years. Here’s how to care for it:
Washing
-
Machine wash cold (max 30°C / 90°F)
-
Gentle cycle with mild detergent
-
Non-chlorine bleach only if needed
-
Wash with similar soft items (avoid heavy zippers)
Drying
-
Tumble dry low; remove promptly
-
Gently reshape the fringe with your fingers
-
Avoid high heat and over-drying
Do & Don’t
-
Do use a mesh bag if washing with hardware-heavy items
-
Don’t dry clean or iron on high heat
-
Do store folded loosely in a cool, dry place
Why Jacquard?
Unlike surface prints, jacquard patterns are woven into the fabric—so the design stays crisp over time and you’ll see a beautiful, reversible “color-negative” back.
